ADDING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES TO REGAL SPLENDOUR
Denham Place already combines majesty with modern day living. However, with 42 acres of parkland, the property clearly offers scope to add extra recreational facilities. As an indication of the opportunities, new proposals feature an underground spa including a full size pool, indoor tennis court, multi-car garage and a spiral staircase leading to an above ground orangery.
Further from the house, there is ample space for equestrian facilities, a tennis court and a beautiful outdoor pool. Additionally, the coach house and cottages provide space for family offices, boardrooms and staff accommodation.

Proposed Orangery
The proposed orangery is a single-storey light filled space opening out to the ornamental garden. With a stone façade perforated by expansive windows, a glazed ceiling and checkerboard stone flooring, the new orangery acts as a continuation of the garden. In the central section, an arrangement of large, soft furniture surrounded by potted and climbing plants provides generous space for relaxation or entertaining amid verdant greenery.
At each end of the orangery, symmetrical wings feature spiral staircases leading to a lower level bar area and relaxation zone.
A pair of striking voids thrust natural light into this underground space.
Reflecting the visual language of the main house, the proposed extension features a palette of rich golds with classically referenced detailing.
Proposed Extension – Pool & Spa
The artist’s impression shows how contemporary recreational facilities can be seamlessly integrated into stately Denham Place. The proposed extension, beneath the existing ornamental garden, features a swimming pool, hydro pool and spa with treatment room, sauna and steam room. Bathed in light, the calm voluminous space is connected to the main house by a spa lobby with skylights and limestone flooring. Echoing the ceiling of the lower ground floor within the main house, the pool hall has a dramatic vaulted ceiling.
